BIPOC Temazcal/Sweat Lodge

One of the gifts we were blessed with this past season is a Temazcal or sweat lodge. The lodge is a space of healing and blessing used by Indigenous peoples from North and Central Americas.

This lodge was built in the Mexica tradition by Moondancers from Puerto Rico, Canada, and Costa Rica in 2021. It faces the Southeast and honors the Ollin (sacred movements of the universe). Lodges are led by Sunder Ashni, a Moondancer in this tradition for 8 years in Metzliyolotlitzin, under the guidance of Abuela Ana Itzpapalotl in Puriscal, Costa Rica.

This month’s lodge is for those who identify as Black, Indigenous, Beings of Color.
